Vitamin B12: When Tingling and Tiredness Need a Check

Tingling is a reason to investigate, not just buy an energy supplement.
Look beyond tiredness
B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, a sore tongue, pins and needles, weakness, memory problems or visual changes. Some nerve symptoms can occur without anaemia.
Ask about testing
Contact a clinician if you suspect a deficiency. Assessment often includes symptoms and blood tests. Diet, absorption problems and certain medicines can contribute, so mention your eating pattern and all medicines or supplements.
Treatment is individual
Tablets or injections may be needed, depending on the cause. Early treatment matters because some nerve damage can become permanent. Do not rely on a general multivitamin to treat persistent neurological symptoms without assessment.
