Smoked Again After Quitting? Take the Next Step Today

One difficult moment does not have to become a return to smoking.
Pause without blaming yourself
A lapse may be a puff or a single cigarette; a relapse means returning to regular smoking. Both are reasons to review your plan, rather than abandon your goal.
Find what happened
Was it stress, alcohol, another smoker or an unexpected craving? Write down the trigger and choose a different response for next time. Remove remaining cigarettes and reconnect with someone who supports your quit attempt.
Strengthen the next attempt
If you are smoking regularly again, set a new quit date soon and ask for help. Review whether stop-smoking treatment or more practical support would make the next attempt easier. Each attempt can teach you what needs adjusting.
